Ateeq ur Rahman

Partner

Ateeq ur Rahman is a Founding Partner of Sovereign Stone Capital Partners. With nearly 30 years of international experience, Ateeq has a distinguished background in banking, entrepreneurship, and strategic leadership across the Middle East and Europe and Asia.

Ateeq currently holds a number of leadership roles in addition to his work at SSCP, including CEO of Visão Única, board member of RUI Holdings and is a member of the Investment Committee of Serra Stone Portugal Fund.

He previously served as Country Head & Managing Director for Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) in Qatar, where he successfully led the merger with Union National Bank. His banking career is defined by his expertise in syndicated and structured finance, project finance, and the establishment of Islamic corporate banking divisions. He has advised on and executed multi-billion-dollar deals across industries including energy, telecom, textiles, and steel.

As an entrepreneur and investor, Ateeq has launched and managed a range of ventures, including Venture 40 Fund (Spun-off) and serving as CEO of Visão Única, a prime residential real estate development firm in Portugal. He is an alumnus of the Harvard Business School Executive Development Program and holds an MBA in Finance.

Ali Bachani

Partner

Ali Bachani is a Partner and Co-Founder of Sovereign Stone Capital Partners. With over 15 years of experience in management consulting and financial services, Ali specialises in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic transformation.

Ali is a member of the Investment Committee of Serra Stone Portugal Fund.

Prior to co-founding Sovereign Stone, Ali spent over a decade at McKinsey & Company, where he served as an Associate Partner. He co-led the firm's Joint Ventures, Alliances, and Partnerships practice in Europe, driving impactful growth and portfolio strategies for large- and mid-cap organisations across North America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Earlier in his career, Ali held roles at Deutsche Bank in New York, focusing on change management and operational risk for derivatives clearing. He holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth and a Bachelor of Science from Lehigh University.

Haseeb Rahman

Associate

Haseeb Rahman is an Associate at Sovereign Stone Capital Partners, where he leads the firm's investment initiatives within tactical opportunities and the energy sector. His primary focus encompasses upstream development, midstream infrastructure, and green energy ventures.

In addition to his energy mandate, Haseeb assists the Partners in driving the firm's broader diversification strategy. He supports the full investment lifecycle for new acquisitions — including hospitality, logistics, and niche manufacturing — with a focus on rigorous due diligence.

His background includes serving as a Research Analyst at Kazimir Partners and Chief of Staff for Visão Única. He holds an LLB (Honours) from the University of Bristol and is a CAIA Charterholder.
